TUNDRA
Dalmatian Mix
2 yrs. / Spayed

Tundra has been in our care since the
end of 2008.  She is about two years old.
So far she has been a really good girl in
her foster home.  She has done well
with other dogs her size, but a home
without small dogs would be best. She
does need to go to a home
without cats.
Tundra is a special needs girl because
she is deaf. Her forever family must be
patient and understanding with her. She
is crate-trained and loads herself into
the car even if it requires a big jump.
After the initial excitement of getting
her harness and leash on she walks well
on a leash. She is a sweet girl and loves
attention. She also loves to go for
walks, so if you want a dog with energy
Tundra is the girl for you.

BELLA

Lab/Shepherd/Shiba Inu Mix
2 years / Spayed

Bella has been in our care since
the end of 2008. She is almost two
years old and is a very active,
vocal girl.  She is very devoted to
her people.  She has done well
around kids and is fine with other
dogs except some females. She will
chase cats if they run. She seems to
want to play but she plays rough.
However, she has gotten better
about this. A firm voice is all it
takes to stop her from doing
anything she shouldn't. Bella can
run all day long but she loves to
get on the couch and relax with
you, too. She knows "sit" very
well and is willing to learn more
and more.
JACKSON
Collie / Hound Mix
2 yrs / Neutered

Jackson was adopted from HCPAP as a puppy. However, he was returned to
us when he wasn't a cute puppy anymore. Now, he has been with HCPAP
since the beginning of 2009. He is about 2 years old. He is very playful and
affectionate. He loves to play with other dogs and is fine with horses. He does
like to chase rabbits, although he probably would have no clue what to do if he
caught one. He doesn't jump up on you and has never shown any aggression. If
you want an active and affectionate dog, Jackson is a wonderful choice.
RODDICK
Dalmation/Dane/Shepherd Mix
1 year *** Neutered

This handsome lad was rescued from death row--
perhaps he was turned in to a shelter because he is
hearing impaired....being hearing impaired is NO
REASON to be put down.
He is great with children. Roddick plays well with other
dogs & cats. He is excellent on a leash & LOVES to
explore on his walks.
He goes on hikes with his foster Mom--he is not
allowed off leash like the others but he is on a 20ft. lead
& does well on it.
He knows 4 signs & there is so much more to learn &
he is ready & excited to do so!!!
If you have PATIENCE, COMPASSION,
a POSITIVE ATTITUDE.......then
Roddick is your guy. You can fall in love with those
ears alone!!!!
Come meet this gentleman & you two start what will
become a beautiful friendship.

BOOKER
Australian Cattle Dog Mix ***  3yrs. / Neutered

We rescued Booker & his 7 litter mates from underneath an
abandoned home. Booker was the most shy of them all. Well, that
was about 3 years ago....Booker has made an about face. His
personality has surfaced & he is quite charming. He enjoys a car ride
& sleeping on the couch with his foster Mom. He loves his trips to
the park to go hiking with his foster family dogs. Booker is quite
slow to warm up to strangers... But when he trusts you, he develops a
solid bond with you that is hard to break.... Are you up for a
challenge? The challenge will be only to provide him with a loving &
permanent  home. Booker is house trained & enjoys the company of
his foster families other dogs & cats.
How can you resist those handsome coppery eyes?
You only have to look into an animal's eyes to know that he has a soul or
listen to his cries to realize that he has feelings, too.

XIAMARA (Zee-Mara)

Lab / Cattle Dog mix
2 years/Spayed

This gentle lady smiled the moment she
was loaded in the car with her 7 pups
from the high kill shelter. She knew she
& her little family were bound for
greater things.
Xiamara is a very dominant female with
other dogs and can be possessive of her
owner(s). She just loves her people so
much she wants you all to herself.
She LOVES riding in the car.
She is crate trained and house trained.
If you want a "lap dog", she is the lady
for you....she snuggles & snuggles &
snuggles.

Needs
Claire
Lab / Shar Pei
10 months /Spayed

We rescued Claire from a shelter. She is a very friendly and active
girl. Claire would do best in a home with no more than a couple of
other dogs. She doesn’t seem to like crowds. She gets nervous
and bossy when there are a lot of dogs around. However, she
loves to play with other dogs and she does fine with cats. If you
would like to see another video of Claire watch Bella's video. She
is at the top of this page.

Kashmir
Chow mix
3 years / Spayed

Kashmir is close to three years old. She is an
active girl and loves to have something to do.
She plays Frisbee, sits, stays and shakes
hands with you. She does need a home
without cats. She has nice house manners,
crates well and is housetrained. She
becomes a very devoted family member by
watching out for her loved ones. A fenced
yard with a buddy to run and play with
would be ideal for her. Kashmir does very
well on a leash and in the car. She loves to
play in the hose, too..as you can see by her
video!

Lana

Chow / Lab
7 years / Spayed

Lana was returned to us in June 2010
after five years because her previous
owners were moving to an apartment.
She is about 7 years old now. She
wasn’t well cared for in her previous
home because she had mats on her
back end that were so bad that we had
to just shave her. Her hair has almost
fully grown back now. She definitely
needs routine brushing. She has done
well with the dogs and cats in her
foster home. She is a friendly girl and
likes attention. Lana needs a new
family that is willing to give her all the
love and attention she deserves.
Here is a quick look at Lana!
Martin

Pomeranian mix
10+ years

Martin is an older guy that was found wandering in a field.  He was
quite skinny when he came to us. Since then, he has had two good
meals everyday and is back to a healthy weight. He seems to be in
good health, but we have discovered that he is deaf. A fenced yard or
a watchful eye will be required when Martin is outside because he
does wander (which is why he ended up in a field.) He has two
favorite times of the day and they are breakfast and dinner. These two
times are the only times he barks and gets a quicker step. Martin does
fine with other dogs and he ignores cats.  He does have some food
aggression issues but he is fed in a crate to avoid these problems. He
does require routine brushing. Martin just needs a quiet home where
he can live out the rest of his years!
Check out Martin's Video!
Annie
Australian Kelpie mix
2 years / Spayed

We just recently rescued Annie
from a shelter. She is a very
sweet girl and has done fine
with other dogs. We are not
sure how she is with cats yet.
Given that we rescued Annie
from a shelter we have no
history on her. However, she
has a dent in her skull above
one eye that is possibly from
human abuse. Regardless, she
is very friendly but can be a little
nervous in new situations. We
will never know what happened
in Annie's past, but it is up to us
to give her a new life filled with
love.
Kane

Great Pyrenees / Border Collie
10 months / Neutered

Kane, his siblings and mother were rescued in
the nick of time. They had been turned in to a
high kill and were scheduled to be put down
that afternoon because there was no room. He
is the go getter...he loves to climb...so the type
of fence you have will be a necessary
discussion. How can you resist those eyes...so
much expression. Kane loves to play and play
hard. When it is nap time he goes down for the
count. He does fine with other dogs and cats
just like his brothers. YOU need a partner to
explore with this summer and to grow
with....Make room for this charmer in your
life....it will be the best decision you have made.
Vera
Lab / Pit mix
8 months / Spayed

We recently rescued Vera from a local shelter. She spent most of her life in the shelter. We
were successful in finding a home for her sister, Lilly, but her brother, Bradley, still needs
a home, too. However, he is still in the shelter. Vera is a very active, playful girl. She is go
go go. Lots of running and exercise is a must for this busy girl. She is sweet and loves
attention. Because Vera lived in the shelter most of her life she is not housetrained yet and
is still getting used to house life altogether.
Jester

Bull Terrier mix
3 years / Neutered

Jester was originally in our
care for over a year. Then, he
found a great home.
Unfortunately in April 2010 he
had to be returned to us
because his family had to
move. Now, Jester is back to
find a new great home. He
loves people and he probably
prefers to have people around
opposed to other animals. He
likes just about everyone but
sometimes there's that one
person or dog in the crowd
that he doesn't like. We are
not sure how he is with cats.
He likes to swim and has
plenty of energy to go along
with it. He loves to sleep in
bed with you, too. As you can
see by the picture he loves
really big toys. Jester is
waiting for his second
chance...can you give it to him?
Take a look at Jester in his video!
"Teenagers"

German Shepherd / Collie / Lab

Spayed/Neutered

We originally got this group when they were pups. Some of them
still haven't found a permanent home. They are a little bigger now
but are still in their young stage. They are friendly and want to
play play play. They are patiently waiting for their permanent
home. Can you give it to them?

Buddy
American Staffordshire Terrier mix
3 years

Buddy was originally in our care for over a year. He finally found a home but
had to be returned to us a year later. His family was moving and could not
take him. He is about 3 years old now. He is a very friendly boy and was
around small children in his previous home. He loves people but does need
a home without cats. He does fine with other dogs but would be fine as an
only dog, too. He knows how to sit and shake and expects to get a treat for
it. He likes to play fetch but doesn't always like to give the toy back.
Sometimes he will pretend he is going to give it back and right when you
reach for it he turns real quick and runs away. He will also catch the ball if
you toss it up in the air. If you throw his ball in the water he jumps right in to
get it. He can always make his foster family laugh because of all the funny
facial expressions he makes. Buddy is waiting again for a home. Please give
him a chance!
Jake
German Shepherd mix
5 years / Neutered

Jake was adopted out from us when he was a puppy. Now, five years later, he is back
with us because his owners were moving. They could only take one of their dogs and did
not choose Jake. Since he has been with us we have found that he is quite a gentle giant.
He is a very sweet guy and loves attention. He has ignored the cats and has done fine
with all the other dogs in his foster home. Even when the small dogs bark at him like they
are tougher he pays no attention. Jake needs a fenced yard and all the love and attention
he deserves.
Puppies
Lab / Hound mix
11 weeks

We recently rescued these pups from a local shelter. The black puppy is a girl and the
other three are boys. They are active, playful and friendly little pups. They are not
housebroken yet so a crate is highly recommended.

Dingo
9-10 weeks

This little man was found wandering along the road. He was a bit on
the skinny side when he was found, but is not having any problems
eating now. He does great with other dogs and cats. He loves people,
he will follow you everywhere!!! We really aren't sure what he is
mixed with. He almost looks like he could be a brindle basenji,
minus the curly tail??? If you have a guess, let us know!
Puppies Puppies Puppies

We recently rescued this group of eight from a local shelter. They are all
black and tan. We were told that mom was a black and tan coonhound/
lab mix. There are a few that have hound ears and long bodies.
However, some of them look a little like Rottweilers, but we really are
not sure what they are mixed with. Regardless of what in the world they
are, they are friendly, playful and waiting to find their perfect home.
Zoe
Boston Terrier mix

Zoe recently came to us
because she was abandoned.
Her previous owners moved
and left her and her puppies.
Her puppies found homes
with the people of that
neighborhood but no one
wanted Zoe. She is a sweet
girl and gets along great
with everyone.
